Statement
It is indeed an honor to be asked to run for the position of Region VI Director-Elect. Over the years I have served on various committees within my state organizations and have proved that I can be dependable. With over thirty-three years of library experience, I offer Region VI members the perspective of someone who has worked with Kindergarten through Post-Secondary students, conducted numerous workshops for teachers and media specialists, and truly understand the trials and triumphs of working in a school library. With an uncertain economy and increasing pressure for libraries to provide MORE for LESS, I would work as a liaison between those working in our Region VI (Arkansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Texas) and the AASL Board to share concerns, issues, and needs relating to our beloved profession.
