Accomplishments
My career as a school library media specialist was fulfilling and marked by the development of several collaboration based library programs. As a school library educator it is the sharing of my knowledge and experience and the mentoring peers and students that I view as my greatest accomplishment.
Statement
I am running for ELMSS Secretary. The primary responsibility of this position is to record the meetings and business of the ELMSS section. I would hope to support the section leadership and communicate with the membership. As educators we face many local and national challenges. Working with fewer resources challenges us and our students. Integrating into our curriculum new federal legislation such as CPSIA and copyright creates the challenge of constant update of course materials. Maintaining documentation for national and state program certification is more than challenging. I believe the collaborative efforts of the ELMSS membership helps reduce the stress of these challenges.
