Statement

As the director of libraries for a large metropolitan school district in the greater Kansas City area I have the leadership experience, background, and skills necessary to support the officers and members of the division.  As supervisors many times we are isolated in unique positions in our school districts.  We wear many hats including reading promotion, providing appropriate technology for students and staff, building quality collections both print and online, curriculum support, collaboration, quality facilities, staff development, and budget management,  The experience that I have as the director of library media services for 27 years will help me support other supervisors.  My goal as secretary would be to work with the officers and members, keep and disseminate accurate minutes, and other division information in a timely manner.  Supporting AASL initiatives, programs and goals would be my primary focus as secretary for the Supervisor’s Division of AASL.
