Accomplishments

Before attending Trevecca Nazarene University as an MLIS candidate I was a small business owner. I made a career change in 2002 and entered Trevecca's MLIS program at that time. After completing post baccalaureate courses and the MLIS program at Trevecca Nazarene University I began my second career. I have worked as a Middle School Librarian at Harpeth Hall since August 2006. Our Ann Scott Carell Library at Harpeth Hall received the School Library Media Program of the Year in 2007.

Statement

I serve as an Instructional Librarian to help students become effective users of ideas and information. I am choosing to run as the ISS Section Representative to the AASL Board of Directors to further that cause. My goal is to serve the ISS Section and AASL Board as an active member, bringing ideas to the two groups respectively. I would like to help further the ISS Section's goal of recruitment of members by being active in ISS activities both virtually and personally. Although I am not a long-time librarian, I do bring fresh ideas and the desire to further the profession. I enjoy my work as a librarian and hope to further the skills of young people and help create lifelong learners.
