AASL Committee Preferences
AASL committee appointments are two-year terms except for award committees, editorial boards, special committees, and task force assignments. A full list of committees and their charges can be found here.

Regular AASL committee appointments require that the committee member attend all scheduled meetings of the committee at the ALA Annual Conference and Midwinter Meeting. Virtual AASL committee appointments require that the committee member participate actively by attending committee meetings held electronically (e.g., by conference call, chat room, etc.) and by responding to the chairperson's and members' electronic communications.
