Use Meta Search Engines

When out there surfing the Internet, we all have our very own favorite search engines. Some of us like Yahoo, Alta Vista, Excite, Infoseek, Lycos or any of the many search engines available.

Meta Search engines search a number of search engines at one time. In other words if you go to www.dogpile.com and conduct a search it will search simultaneously GoTo.com, Looksmart, FindWhat.com, Direct Hit, Kanoodle, and many more. If you ever tried the same search in different search engines you will have noticed that the results will differ. Even the most powerful search engines search only 20% of the Web. For more efficient searching of Internet websites use Meta search engines.

Some of the most popular are: Dogpile, AskJeeves, Metacrawler, Mamma, Search.com, Vivisimo, Karnak Library, and Searchenginez.com. For a comprehensive, rated directory with links to the Meta Search engines go to www.zdnet.com/searchiq/directory/multi.html.

Happy searching!
