Resolutions Committee
Charge
The Council Resolutions Committee shall provide an advisory and channeling function for all resolutions presented for Council's consideration, reviewing all resolutions submitted to Council pursuant to the criteria established by Council. (Guidelines for Preparation of Resolutions for Presentation to Council). The committee is also directed to provide consistent, in-depth training for all new members.Roster

Composition
The Resolutions Committee consists of Twelve (12) Members, which includes chair.
Origin
Established by council as a council committee on recommendation of the committee on organization on January 24, 1975, to consist of seven members appointed by the council committee on committees for staggered terms of two years. Enlarged to twelve members by council January, 1977.
Get Involved
ALA values committed and active committee members. Qualified members are welcome to volunteer to serve on [insert committee name here]. Committee members must have an interest in the work of the committee; be able to attend Annual Conferences and Midwinter Meetings to participate in the meetings and activities of the committee; and be able to work between conferences via e-mail and ALA Connect. Express your interest in serving on this or other committees by filling out an application form. Appointments take place once a year, during the spring.
