To consider amendments to the Constitution and Bylaws; to review and draft rules for the conduct of Council and Membership meetings; to review and draft rules for the preparation of resolutions, memorials, and tributes; and to make recommendations to the Association in accordance with the provisions of Articles XI and XII of the Constitution.Roster

Composition
On recommendation of Council, February, 1958, the Constitution and Bylaws Committee is to consist of five members. Chairperson to be appointed annually. Charge revised at the 1995 Midwinter Meeting by ALA Council.
Origin
Created by ALA Council in 1931, by implication of the Constitution. Functions approved by Council on June 24, 1941.Get Involved
ALA values committed and active committee members. Qualified members are welcome to volunteer to serve on the the Constitution and Bylaws Committee. Committee members must have an interest in the work of the committee; be able to attend Annual Conferences and Midwinter Meetings to participate in the meetings and activities of the committee; and be able to work between conferences via e-mail and ALA Connect. Express your interest in serving on this or other committees by filling out an application form. Appointments take place once a year, during the spring.
