Regular Membership
Regular Membership is intended for individual librarians as well as those employed in other areas of library and information services in jobs that either require a master's degree or state level certification, or are managerial. This membership type has the same rights and benefits of all other Personal Memberships, including committee service, voting rights, and complimentary publications.
Regular Members of ALA constitute approximately 2/3 of our Personal Membership and come from school, public, and academic libraries, as well as the faculty of library and schools of education. Regular Membership in ALA provides you with access to Personal Membership in all ALA divisions and round tables, too. Career connections and personal networks among Regular Members are strong. Membership puts you in touch with a wide cross section of the entire profession. From experienced librarians to those at the start of their career, or even those looking for a change of pace, Regular Membership in ALA will be of good benefit.
