2005 Midwinter Meeting Minutes
GROUP: Library Consortia/Automated Systems Interest Group
CHAIR: Jon Mark Bolthouse
REPORTER: Jon Mark Bolthouse
EMAIL: jbolthou@uwc.edu
CONFERENCE: Midwinter
MEETING: IG business meeting
ATTENDEES: 15
CURRENT ACTIVITIES: The Library Consortia Automated Systems Interest Group meeting at Midwinter went very well, considering past attendance. We had approximately 15 people show up and the discussion covered a wide range of topics. These included the 25th anniversary of ILCSO, the Illinois consortium, open-source ILS systems, ERM systems and their roles within the consortium environment, and digital repositories. Like many of our meetings, most attendees were from large academic or public consortia, though we did have a vendor or two as well. A valuable outcome of the planning meeting was the partnership with ILSCO in celebration of their 25th anniversary. We plan on hosting a managed discussion at ALA annual, giving members of the ILSCO consortium the opportunity to share with all of us the history of their organization, as well as informing us of new and exciting ventures.
FUTURE ACTIVITIES: As stated above, we will be hosting a managed discussion in partnership with ILCSO and their 25th anniversary.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: We are still in need of a co-chair for the Interest Group. I have been chairing the IG now for 3 years solo and could use some help.
