Patricia A. Oliver Pesch (EBSCO) gave an update on SUSHI developments. In September, NISO released the standard for trial use (http://www.niso.org/standards/resources/Z39-93_DSFTU.pdf). It has received good support from vendors and been endorsed by the International Coalition of Library Consortia (ICOLC).

Nathan Robertson (U Maryland School of Law) gave an update on the NISO/EDItEUR ONIX for Licensing Terms Working Group (http://www.editeur.org/onix_licensing.html). A first draft is expected by the end of January. Development of tools to create an XML version of the license should be available in March.

Kathy Klemperer (Library and Information Systems Consulting) gave an update on the NISO/EDItEUR Joint Working Party for the Exchange of Serials Subscription Information (http://www.editeur.org/onixserials.html). Pilot versions of the ONIX Serials Release Notification (SRN) and Serials Products and Subscriptions (SPS) Formats are now available. In a few months the committee should finish an article-level Serials Release Notification format.

NISO has a new working group called Shared E-Resource Understanding (SERU) for developing an expression of shared publisher and library expectations re: e-resource subscription as an alternative to licensing (http://www.niso.org/committees/SERU/).
