Phoenix Public Library seeks an experienced and effective leader to direct the operations of the award-winning Burton Barr Central Library. The Phoenix Public Library serves a population of 1.5 million through the central library and 14 branch libraries. Incumbent has full responsibility to administer a 280,000-sq.-ft. facility with an $8.1 million budget, 124 FTE staff, and a collection of 850,000 volumes under the general direction of the assistant city librarian.
REQUIRES an MLS from an ALA-accredited program and 4 years of experience managing a branch library or major library division, including authority for personnel and budget administration. Experience in a large urban public library serving a diverse population is preferred. Successful candidates will possess vision, passion, and a thorough understanding of public service delivery in the 21st century and the ability to exercise considerable initiative and independent judgment to lead the system to achieving the goals of PPL's strategic plan.
$65,083-$102,586 annualized plus a comprehensive benefits package.
