Experient is ALA’s travel management company for both hotel and airline reservations. As an ALA attendee or exhibitor, you are eligible for special airline and hotel rates.
NEW THIS YEAR: You must register for the Midwinter Meeting before you can register for housing.

Airline Reservation Information
Online reservations with United Airlines: Purchase your ticket online at www.united.com and receive a 5% discount off the lowest applicable fares. After you link to www.united.com enter your origin and destination, travel dates, click on More Search Options and enter your promotion code number, 500CR; then we’ll display the available flights. Flights that qualify for the discount will be clearly identified with a red star symbol, which means that the itinerary is "electronic certificate eligible". When you select an electronic certificate eligible flight, we will automatically calculate and present your discounted fare. This special offer applies to flights to or from the US only. There are no fees for booking on line. Note the Code 500CR is case sensitive and the characters need to be capitalized. Phone reservations with United Airlines: United is offering special meeting discounts for attendees of the ALA 2009 Midwinter Meeting. Simply call (or have your travel agent call) our Special Meeting Desk at 1-800-521-4041 and refer to Meeting ID Number 500CR to receive a 2 – 15% discount off applicable fares, including First Class. If you purchase your ticket at least 30 days prior to travel, you will receive an additional 5% discount (on most classes of service). This special offer applies to travel on domestic segments of all United Airlines, United Express, TED and United code share flights (UA*) operated by US Airways, US Airways Express and Air Canada. There are no fees to use this 800 number.
Experient reservations will provide custom itineraries with the lowest applicable air fares and best journey time. The United Discounts above are available through the ALA Travel Desk, as well as flights on other airlines, using the information below. To make reservations through the ALA Travel Desk, call toll-free, 1-800-621-1083 (847-940-1176, outside the U.S. and Canada) 8:00 am to 5:00 pm CST, Monday through Friday. $22.00 service fee per airline ticket issued. Save $5.00 when you book online.
To book online travel through Experient, go to www.travelport.net/registration . You will be asked to register. The Company Name is ALA. The Pin Number is QABSCK93. Please enter the information, as instructed, which will grant you access to book your flights on-line, anytime.
Helpful hints: Once you are prompted to “Go To Travelport”, you will be sent to the Experient Welcome page. The New User ID is your email address (that you entered on the registration page). The Password is the password you provided on the registration page. For security measures, you will be asked to change your password. Once you have completed these tasks you are authorized to book air travel. The service fee is $17.00. Experient will append any discount related to your meeting, as applicable. To return to the site in the future, simply go to www.travelport.net.

Super Shuttle
ALA has partnered with SuperShuttle to serve the needs of its attendees traveling to Denver for the Midwinter Meeting. SuperShuttle is offering discounts on round trip travel to and from the Denver International Airport (DIA) and the hotels in the ALA block. $22 one way and $36 round trip using the special ALA online discount code LET6A at http://www.supershuttle.com/default.aspx?GC=LET6A. SuperShuttle serves all of the hotels in downtown Denver, most are on regular schedules.Vans go the downtown hotels from 7:00 am until 5:30 pm every 15 minutes. Vans return to DIA from downtown hotels every 15 minutes starting about 5:00 am until 5:30 pm. Reservations can be made for earlier or later pickups and must be made online in order to receive the special ALA discount.
Train and Bus Travel, Plus Rental Cars
Amtrak: The California Zephyr Amtrak train route passes through Denver, traveling between Chicago and California, at Union Station at 1701 Wynkoop Street, and connects to most major Amtrak lines. Amtrak offers a 10% discount off the lowest applicable fare for reservations made over the phone at 800- 872-7245, using Fare Code X48T-941. Includes travel up to three days prior to the meeting start date and three days following the last day of the meeting. Valid for travel :January 18, 2009 - January 31, 2009. Greyhound: Greyhound buses arrive and depart 24 hours a day from the station at 1055 19TH ST. For information, contact Greyhound at 800-229-9424 or go online at www.greyhound.com.
Rental Cars: Discounts on rental cars in Denver are available through Hertz. To reserve a car, visit http://www.hertz.com or contact Hertz at 1-800-654-2240 and use our CV number 049J0001.
Public Transit and Free ALA Shuttles
Details about public transportation in Denver are available at http://www.rtd-denver.com/
Free Shuttles, sponsored by Gale, A Cengage Learning Company, will run from ALA Hotels to the Convention Center. Accessible shuttles will be available.
