Exhibit Location and Hours
The exhibits will be held January 23-26, 2009 in the Colorado Convention Center.
Exhibits will open on Friday, January 23, with a Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony at 5:15 pm preceding the All-Conference Reception on the Exhibit Floor from 5:30 - 7:30 pm.
Exhibit Hours are: Friday, January 23 - 5:30 - 7:30 pm
Saturday-Sunday, January 24-25 - 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Monday, January 26 - 9:00 am - 2:00 pm
Please Note: Wheeled carts are not allowed on the exhibit floor - they are a trip hazard on the busy exhibit floor. A bag/coat check is available in the Convention Center for these bags. This includes carts, briefcases with wheels - any wheeled cart or bag that must be pushed or pulled. If you need a wheeled bag for medical reasons, please request a wavier form when you check in at Registration. Strollers are allowed ONLY if there is a child in them at all times.
Special Events on the Exhibit Floor
Your registration includes several special exhibit events. Friday Night, don’t miss the best-selling Author Forum from 4:00 – 5:15 pm. Immediately following the Author Forum will be the Exhibits Opening Ceremony and the All-Conference Reception, from 5:15 – 7:30 pm. Saturday afternoon, enjoy the Spotlight on Adult Authors, featuring special giveaways and galleys, and author signings. On Monday, the Technology Showcase features the latest trends in Library Technology.
Exhibits Opening Reception
Enjoy music, free food and the chance for lots of great prizes at The Friday Night Opening Reception, sponsored by the exhibitors and ALA. The Reception will be held from 5:30 – 7:30 pm on the exhibit floor, and will feature food and music, as well as over 60 gift baskets (valued over $75 each) to be given away by exhibitors on Friday only! To register to win a basket, visit the exhibitor’s booth during the Opening Reception. These baskets will be raffled off Friday evening, so be ready to win! A list of participating exhibitors will be available in the Meeting Guide, and published in Friday’s Cognotes, and winners will be published in Sunday’s Cognotes. You do not need to be present to win.
ALA/ERT Author Forum
Friday, January 23, 2009, 4:00-5:15 pm
The Author Forum will feature discussions with and readings from several best-selling authors.
Spotlight on Adult Literature
Saturday, January 24, 2009 2:00-4:00 pm
Exhibit Hall
Sponsored by FOLUSA and ALA
Participating publishers will feature book signings and some will give away free books or galleys.
Technology Showcase
Monday, January 26, 2009, 10:00 am – 1:10 pm
The Technology Showcase is back again this year! Join these exciting companies as they highlight the latest trends in Library Technology. Presentations will occur simultaneously from 10:00 am - 1:10 pm on Monday, January 26. Complimentary refreshments will be served on the Exhibits floor during the presentations.
