SOLINET Offers IACET-Certified Continuing Education Units

Classes offered by SOLINET’s Educational Services now offer Continuing Education Units (CEUs), a major benefit to library staff needing to enhance or maintain their professional credentials.

SOLINET applied in 2004 to the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), the organization that develops the standards and monitors the programs certified to offer authorized CEUs. Through a lengthy evaluation process, including a site visit by IACET, SOLINET successfully demonstrated its adherence to all IACET criteria and guidelines. SOLINET is now linked to the IACET Web site and is recognized as offering the highest quality continuing education and training programs.

SOLINET’s Educational Services has a long-standing and widespread reputation for the quality of the classes it provides and the high caliber of its professional trainers. “I am delighted that IACET is providing this authorization,” said Educational Services Manager Cal Shepard. “Our program and our instructors are outstanding; this certification is well deserved.”

Kate Nevins, SOLINET Executive Director, added: “Member feedback has always been full of praise for the importance and effectiveness of our educational program. Being able to offer the IACET CEUs is a significant added value for our members.”
