Resources for Children and Their Parents and Educators
Dealing with Tragedy

Books to help children deal with the Hurricane Katrina disaster
This list of nonfiction and fiction children's books was compiled by the ALSC Quicklists Consulting Committee.

Resources to help children deal with the tragic events of September 11, 2001
This Web site includes book, Web and other media resources, which were compiled in the wake of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks from suggestions made by children's librarians on the ALSC-L Electronic Discussion List and by the ALSC Quicklists Consulting Committee.

While some of the resources deal directly with terrorism, many other resources on this Web site help children deal with the issues of tragedy, separation and loss in general.
