SLA Opens New Global HeadquartersThe 12,000-member Special Libraries Association hosted an open house at its new global headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia, October 20. The association moved from its former location on 18th Street in Washington, D.C.The new facility features private workspaces for each staff member with networked phone and wireless computer access. Also included is an area for public meetings and a state-of-the-art information center. “I’m just ecstatic about the kind of workspace we now have, with modern technologies and support systems to help staff be more productive and successful,” said SLA Executive Director Janice R. Lachance. “We hope members, partners, and the association community will make use of it, so that we can truly consider our headquarters to be a hub for the profession we represent.” Posted October 22, 2004. |
