Bush Presidential Library Receives Bomb Threat

The FBI is investigating a reported bomb threat to the George Bush H. W. Presidential Library and Museum at Texas A&M University in College Station.

An anonymous caller notified the local Crime Stoppers tip line October 27 after overhearing five men in a convenience store about 30 miles from the town discussing plans to damage the library, the campus newspaper The Battalion reported October 29.

Texas A&M Vice President Charles Sippial said the FBI and the Joint Terrorist Task Force haven’t been able to verify the caller’s information, but have taken precautionary security measures nonetheless. “We think it may be a hoax, but we’ll treat it as the real thing and continue to investigate,” he said.
