May 14 police arrested Simon Zogheib and Sleiman Elmerhebi, both 18, on charges of arson and conspiracy, and Elmerhebi’s mother, Rouba Elmerhebi Fahd, who is accused of being an accessory after the fact.
Zogheib was released May 17 after posting a $20,000 cash bond, according to a May 18 CBC report. He was also ordered to surrender his Canadian passport, placed on 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. curfew, and instructed to not go near the United Talmud Torahs School. Elmerhebi Fahd was released May 19 on $10,000 bail and ordered to not communicate with her son.
A judge’s decision on whether Sleiman Elmerhebi will be released on bail is pending.
