Former Penn Librarian Gets Probation for Downloading Child PornPaul Mosher, former vice provost and director of libraries at the University of Pennsylvania, was sentenced March 3 to seven years of probation for downloading child pornography from the Internet. He had pleaded guilty at a pretrial hearing last October to storing some 5,000 indecent images of children. The New York Times reported March 4 that Mosher, 67, could have been given jail time, but Judge Carolyn Engel Temin sentenced him to probation and a $5,000 fine after he “made a brief statement accepting responsibility for the crime.” Mosher worked at Penn for 15 years prior to his arrest last April, when he resigned after the allegations became public.
