Wisconsin Twister Damages Roof of Madison Branch LibraryA June 23 tornado damaged the roof and ventilation system at the Sequoya branch of the Madison (Wis.) Public Library and knocked out the power for 15 hours.Two air-conditioning and ventilation units fell through the roof near the media section of the library. Branch Supervisor Ann Michalski told CBS affiliate WISC-TV on June 29, “We had quite a bit of water coming through the building. The people here said it sounded like a waterfall.” However, no one was injured and no materials were damaged. The branch, located in the Midvale Plaza mall, reopened June 28. Posted July 2, 2004. |
