Library Assistant Sentenced for Student Sexual AbuseA former library assistant at Glenbard East High School in Lombard, Illinois, received two sentences totaling nine years in prison after she pleaded guilty to having sex with three male students.Laurie Augustine, 42, had faced up to 15 years in prison on 40 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and aggravated criminal assault for having sex with two 16-year-olds and one 17-year-old over a two-month period in 2002. DuPage County Judge Michael Burke said Augustine would get credit for the 333 days served awaiting trial, the Chicago Sun-Times reported July 21. Augustine, who will also be required to register as a sex offender, is scheduled to begin her sentence August 6. She will serve the two sentences of three and six years concurrently.
