An administrator, art historian, and museum professional, Radice was nominated in December by President Bush to head the U.S. government agency that is the primary source of federal support for 122,000 libraries and 15,000 museums.Radice succeeds Robert S. Martin and will serve for a four-year term. The IMLS directorship alternates between individuals from the museum and library communities. Both Michael Gorman, president of the American Library Association, and Edward H.
