IMLS, Public Broadcasting Invest $1.4 Million in Community Education

The Institute of Museum and Library Services and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting announced September 27 that the Partnership for a Nation of Learners, an IMLS-CPB joint effort to encourage collaboration between cultural organizations, has awarded $1,447,022 to seven cooperative projects in seven states.

Among the award winners:

Formed last year to encourage public broadcasters, museums, and libraries to join forces to address community education needs, the Partnership for a Nation of Learners received 132 grant applications requesting more than $26 million. The seven winners are expected to match the awards with an additional $1.8 million.
