SLJ’s St. Lifer Moves to Scholastic
School Library Journal Editor-in-Chief Evan St. Lifer has accepted a newly created position as vice president and general manager of Scholastic Library Publishing, effective June 2. St. Lifer will oversee the editorial, marketing, and sales efforts for the company’s reference and nonfiction imprints, including Grolier, Grolier Online, Children’s Press, and Franklin Watts.
St. Lifer joined SLJ in 2001, when he became editor following Julie Cummins’s departure. During his tenure he helped launch the annual SLJ Leadership Summit, a forum on the importance of school and public libraries. Prior to that he had served for four years as executive editor of Library Journal, SLJ’s sister publication at Cahners in New York City.
