The headquarters of the new company will be at the Sirsi headquarters in Huntsville, Alabama, with the Dynix headquarters in Provo, Utah, continuing as a major SirsiDynix location. Sommers has taken over as chief executive, and Blount has been appointed consultant responsible for completing the development of the next-generation Horizon/Corinthian system. Customer contacts with sales and support representatives will remain unchanged, the announcement said.
“As our new name indicates, this is a ’merger of equals,’” Sommers said. “We’re bringing together two solid companies with 20-plus-year track records to create a global organization that offers the library community unparalleled technical expertise, the broadest array of products and services, and unmatched service and support.”
The merged company has approximately 4,000 library and consortia clients and 725 employees worldwide. SirsiDynix estimates its annual revenues at $130 million.
