A dentist who brought four guns and ammunition inside the law library at Arizona State University in Tempe January 28 was arrested on the premises, according to the January 29 Phoenix Arizona Republic. Kennedy was released the following day, although ASU officials distributed flyers urging students and faculty to be on the lookout for him.
A law student notified library security after noticing a gun protruding from Bradley William Kennedy’s pants. When officers searched Kennedy, they found he was carrying a 9mm Glock pistol, two .22 Magnum revolvers, a .22-caliber short revolver, and eight rounds of ammunition. Kennedy’s van contained more bullets along with a list of judges and their addresses, handcuffs, and gun-training videos. “I am trying to figure out how he kept his pants on,” ASU spokesperson Keith Jennings remarked to the Republic, adding that “campuses are weapon-free zones.”
Court records revealed that Kennedy had been involved in several lawsuits, including a pending paternity and custody suit. “He hit a brick wall in the court system and snapped,” speculated attorney Sterling Threet, who at one time represented the woman involved in the pending suit.
