
The board also approved two candidates for the 2004–2007 term as ALA treasurer: Erika C. Linke, associate dean of university libraries for collection and user services at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh; and Teri Switzer, assistant director for human resources and budget at the Auraria Library, University of Colorado at Denver. Switzer is currently serving a one-year term as treasurer. The board also selected a roster of 74 candidates for the Association's governing Council who will be listed in the December issue of American Libraries.
Electronic ballot information will be transmitted to all ALA members with valid e-mail addresses in March 2004. ALA members without valid e-mail addresses on file will receive materials by mail. Those who prefer to vote by paper ballot may contact the Member and Customer Services department at 800-545-2433 and press 5, or e-mail membership@ala.org. Candidates’ campaign statements will appear in the March issue of AL.
George Needham of OCLC chaired the nine-member Nominating Committee.
