
Images downloaded from the Internet while Stewart was connected were displayed in court and were described as showing children under the age of 7 exposing themselves, engaged in sexual activity, and simulating sexual intercourse. The log from the computer Stewart used contained the search terms “pre-teen girls” and “pre-teen sex.”
If convicted, Stewart would face a prison term ranging from one to 20 years and a fine of up to $10,000.
“I have not heard of another [incident] like it in Georgia since we installed filters,” Deputy State Librarian David Singleton said. “Unfortunately, there’s not a perfect product out there. Regardless of the product, there will be people who get around it. My understanding is [Stewart] got around it.”
