In partnership with the American Association of School Librarians (AASL), 3M will provide up to $1 million in 3M Tattle-Tape Security Strips and related hardware to 100 school library media centers in 2000.
The program, 3M Salute to Schools, is open to middle schools and high schools in the United States that can demonstrate a need for a security system. The selected schools will receive a 3M Detection System for the media center’s entrance or exit, 3M Tattle-Tape Security Strips, and the necessary accessories. Individual donations will vary depending upon the specific needs of the library.
AASL will receive applications and select recipients for the donation. Recipients will be announced at ALA’s 2000 Annual Conference in Chicago. Schools must apply by May 31; applications are available online.
