Foot Fetishist Gets Maximum Sentence
for Library Sex Offense
A man who told police he is aroused by feet was sentenced to five years in prison July 12 after pleading guilty in May to charges of gross sexual imposition for touching the foot and ankle of an 11-year-old girl at the Worthington (Ohio) Public Library.
In February, Lester Stanley DeBoard lured the girl to a secluded area of the library, where he asked her to perform gymnastic poses and had her remove her shoe so he could trace her foot, telling her he was designing a shoe, the Columbus Dispatch reported July 13.
DeBoard has also admitted improperly touching girls at other libraries and now faces two charges of disorderly conduct for tracing the feet of two girls at a Pickerington library. More charges are expected from elsewhere in Ohio.
Judge Michael H. Watson said he would rule later whether to declare DeBoard a sexual predator, which would require him to register with local police upon release from prison, or as a lesser sex offender.
