Anchorage (Alaska) Municipal Library Director Moe McGee was fired June 29 by incoming Mayor George Wuerch, whose inauguration took place the following day.
No reason was given for the dismissal, and officials from Wuerch’s transitional office were unavailable for comment. A spokesperson at outgoing Mayor Rick Mystrom’s office confirmed the firing.
McGee had challenged the Mystrom administration in 1999 on the installation of filters on all municipal Internet computers.
