Endeavor Merges with Elsevier Science

Endeavor Information Systems, producers of the Voyager library management system, has announced its forthcoming merger with Dutch periodical and book publisher Elsevier Science. In an April 7 statement, the company stated that Voyager will serve as a platform for accessing Elsevier’s ScienceDirect Web electronic publications.

“Integration of electronic information, such as full text of electronic journals, has become an increasingly important part of our customers’ mission,” explained Endeavor President and CEO Jane Burke. “The Endeavor/Elsevier alliance will allow both companies to broaden the scope of this vital service.”

Burke stated there would be no reorganization, relocation, or layoffs when the Des Plaines, Illinois, company becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of Elsevier by the end of April.
