Cincinnati police charged 18-year-old Keith Mustin November 23 with two counts of attempted rape at the downtown main building of the Cincinnati and Hamilton County Library.
The first incident occurred September 24 when a 15-year-old girl told police a man tried to rape her in a restroom. In the second attack, on November 22, a 21-year-old woman said a man tried to hold her down in the stairwell.
Library spokeswoman Amy Banister told the November 24 Cincinnati Enquirer that extensive security procedures are already in place: 53 security cameras in the building, 24-hour security guards, and Cincinnati police officers during public hours. Banister said there were nine security officers on duty when the second attack occurred.
Police said Mustin, who was acquitted November 16 of a rape that occurred in July, also fits the description of a man suspected of gross sexual imposition at the library in August.
