Project Vote Smart, a voter education project of the Center for National Independence in Politics, announced July 19 that it is launching a voter-education campaign offering new materials and services to “enhance participating libraries’ ability to offer free and nonpartisan candidate ‘resumes’ to their users.”
With funding from the Carnegie Corporation, the group will provide libraries with free research services on its Web site
The only requirement for libraries is an application form, a commitment, and a brief commentary on the usefulness of the materials after the program is implemented. The giveaway materials are expected to be available in September, the Source Book and YellowPages early next year.
