Ameritech Library Services
Is Renamed Epixtech

Epixtech is the new name for Ameritech Library Services, the company announced December 16. The name change follows the October sale of ALS by parent company Ameritech to a private investment group.

Epixtech is pronounced “as you would the words ‘epics’ and ‘tech,’” said a company news release, and “the new corporate name is spelled with a lower-case ‘e’ as in ‘epixtech’ and will appear in italics type font except in address blocks.” The new name and a new logo were created by an in-house marketing team working with the Brand Effect, a Chicago-based firm.

The formal unveiling of the new company identity will take place at the American Library Association’s Midwinter Meeting in San Antonio, January 14–17.
