
President Clinton has nominated two Rebecca T. Bingham and Martha B. Gould to serve as members of the National Commission on Libraries and Information Science.
Bingham, retired director of library media services for the Jefferson County (Ky.) Public Schools, was named to replace Carol DiPrete, with a term ending in 2001. She has served on the ALA Executive Board and Council and has been president of ALA's American Association of School Librarians.
Gould, retired director of the Washoe County Library in Reno, is a part-time lecturer on Library Administration at the University of Nevada Division of Continuing Education. Originally named to the commission in 1993, Gould will serve a new term ending in 2002.
