Devloper Pledges $7 Million for New Nevada College Library

A local developer has pledged $7 million to help build a new $10-million library and learning resources center at Sierra Nevada College in Incline Village, Nevada.

Making the announcement December 16, school officials said the new facility will be named for its benefactor, William W. Zink. The developer told the Associated Press, “I have had the good fortune of being successful in my chosen profession, and I thought it was time to give something back.” The gift is the largest in the school's history and one of the largest ever made to an institution of higher learning, said College President Vance Peterson.

“The new library is the centerpiece for our master plan for academic facilities,” Peterson said. “This magnificent gift is the catalyst we have been looking for to stimulate the next phase of Lake Campus development.”
