Talk-Radio Host Named to Atlanta-Fulton BoardTalk-radio host Neal Boortz, a self-described Libertarian, was appointed to the Atlanta-Fulton (Ga.) County library board December 18 by County Commission Chairman Mitch Skandalakis, who said he hoped Boortz would talk about the library system's problems on his top-rated morning show. "I think this is a dysfunctional board," Skandalakis said in the December 19 Atlanta Journal-Constitution.. "I want him to expose the absolute foolishness that goes on." Boortz replaces Skandalakis, who had appointed himself to the 17-member board December 5 after Director Julie Hunter criticized the trustee's micromanagement in a letter (see American Libraries, Jan. 1998, p. 32–35).
