Thursday, June 22, 2006 and Friday, June 23, 2006 Morial Convention Center, Room 292 New Orleans, LA
Description This preconference is an introduction to Cataloging Cultural Objects: a Guide to Describing Cultural works and their Images (CCO). CCO, which is forthcoming from ALA Publications, provides guidelines for selecting, ordering, and formatting data used to populate catalog records for cultural works and their images. CCO is designed to promote good descriptive cataloging, shared documentation, and enhanced end-user access. Learn about CCO, its value as a data content standard for libraries, archives, museums, and image collections, and how it may be used in a variety of settings in combination with other standards for descriptive metadata.
