Call for Comments: Proficiencies for Instruction Librarians and Coordinators

The Instruction Section’s Standards for Proficiencies for Instruction Librarians Task Force developed these proficiencies in consultation with IS members. It is the Task Force’s hope that the proficiencies will assist academic libraries to clearly define responsibilities and provide training for librarians who teach and coordinate instructional services. We are in the final stages of requesting approval for these to become an official ACRL standard.

Before completing the approval process, we are asking for your comments one final time. Please let us know what you think about these proficiencies. All comments are welcome. If your comments refer to a particular proficiency, please reference that number in your email message. We will be accepting comments until JANUARY 3, 2007.

Please send your comments to the Chair of the Standards for Proficiencies Task Force, Clara Fowler, at cfowler@mdanderson.org.
