IN THE NEWS
C&RL News, January 2007
Vol. 68, No. 1
It’s a brand new year, and ACRL is entering it with a flurry of activity in preparation for its 13th National Conference, “Sailing into the Future—Charting Our Destiny,” which will be held March 29–April 1, 2007, in Baltimore, Maryland.
If you’re planning to attend the conference, but haven’t yet registered, you won’t want to miss the February 7 early-bird registration deadline. You’ll save more than 25% over on-site registration fees by registering early.
With more than 250 peer-reviewed programs, the ACRL National Conference will keep you up-to-date on academic library issues such as advocacy, assessment, collections, digital initiatives, information literacy, and scholarly communication. The conference will once again feature a virtual component that includes live, interactive Webcasts of select conference programs; speaker materials; daily blogs from roving conference correspondents; and more.
To help you plan your conference schedule, a complete preliminary program is included in this issue. The program is designed so that you can pull it out of the magazine and take it with you. We hope you’ll take advantage of this easy-to-carry guide and find it to be a useful resource during the conference. Additional conference information is available on the conference Web site (www.acrl.org/baltimore).
If you’ve been trying to locate an article from the 2006 volume of C&RL News and haven’t been able to remember what issue it appeared in, the index to volume 67 (2006) is provided in this issue. If you’re hoping to appear in a future index, get a head start by reviewing the submission guidelines for the magazine.
