About the Cover

The photograph on our cover highlighting a slice of New Orlean’s historic French Quarter is from the Historic New Orleans Collection (HNOC) (accession number 1981.360.19). The collection was established in 1966 by General and Mrs. L. Kemper Williams, private collectors of Louisiana materials, to maintain and expand their collection and make it available to the public through research facilities and exhibitions. Located at 533 Royal Street, HNOC has several exhibitions that will be on display during the ALA Annual Conference. In addition, the reading room at the Williams Research Center, located at 410 Chartres Street, is open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. More information about HNOC can be found at www.hnoc.org.
