About the cover
Fortune is an ink and watercolor costume study for a proposed play based on Bunyan’s “Vanity Fair” in Pilgrims’ Progress. The piece is from a collection of papers and drawings of Claud Lovat Fraser in Bryn Mawr College Library’s Seymour Adelman Collection. Fraser was an early 20th-century British illustrator of books, broadsides, posters, bookplates, prints, advertisements, periodicals, and theater design.
