Web 2.0 is democratizing the Internet. The social and interactive tools of this collaborative environment enable all users to contribute content to the Web. Kroski explores four types of Web 2.0 tools: content collaboration (e.g., wikis), social bookmarking, media sharing, and social networking, with particular emphasis on their value for academic libraries. Nearly all the software resources Kroski discusses are available for free.
