Summary of Features and Articles
April 2006

Editorial: The Miracle That's Too Small to Notice. Irving Rockwood discusses the "miracle" of tiny but apparently profitable print runs by scholarly publishers.

Essay: Voices from Indian Country: Native Americans on the Web, by Lisa Mitten.

As the number of sites offering information about Native American peoples proliferated, the field became crowded with sites created by well-intentioned admirers of Native peoples who nevertheless reinforced stereotypes and spread misinformation. Mitten evaluates over 130 Internet resources created by Native peoples themselves, mostly in the United States, sites that "reflect representative areas in which Native voices are particularly unfiltered."

Feature: Recent, New & Forthcoming Electronic Media, 2006. Regularly appearing each year in the April issue, this selected list provides information on new titles of potential relevance for academic libraries, especially electronic databases. This year's list features over 260 titles.

About the Cover: Plant City Campus Library, Hillsborough Community College, Plant City, FL. Dan Hood, librarian. Dan Hood, photographer.
