Apply now for the Institute for Information Literacy Immersion ’08 Program The ACRL Institute for Information Literacy Immersion Program has a new track! The ACRL Institute for Information Literacy is excited to announce that a third track has been integrated into its National Immersion Program. Previously offered as a stand-alone program, “The Intentional Teacher: Renewal through Informed Reflection” will join the highly-regarded Teacher and Program Tracks of Immersion. The Intentional Teacher track offers professional renewal for experienced academic librarians who want more self-awareness in their teaching. Participants will examine their practice through various lenses and explore four areas important to teaching: philosophy/values; pedagogy; student impact; and experimentation. Combining these three tracks will offer a more cohesive Immersion experience. "Immersion was a wonderful experience. I’ve emerged with new energy and many ideas to try. I couldn’t recommend it highly enough." -Past Immersion Participant "It helped develop my understanding of information literacy and it helped me to understand myself better as a teacher." -Past Immersion Participant PROGRAM TRACK. This track focuses on developing, integrating, and managing institutional and programmatic information literacy programs. Participants selected for the Program Track will develop individual case studies in advance of the Immersion program. Change dynamics, systems thinking, institutional outcomes assessment, scalability, and the integration of teaching, learning, and technology will be brought to bear on analyzing the various programmatic challenges presented in the case studies. Immersion participants will be expected to develop the case studies into an action plan for implementation at the home institution.
