On Sunday, June 29th at the 2008 ALA Annual Conference in Anaheim, "Bookmobile Sunday" will begin at 10:30am and includes a presentation by Masha Hamilton, author of "The Camel Bookmobile." Following the program, a Parade of Bookmobiles will take place at 2:30. Upon returning to the Anaheim Convention Center, they will be on display and provide an opportunity to step inside and take a first hand tour of these unique and wonderful vehicles. Bookmobiles in Washington

A Parade of Bookmobiles, was held on Tuesday, June 26th at ALA’s Annual Conference in Washington, DC. to coincide with ALA’s Congressional lobbying efforts and allowed bookmobile staff to share benefits and resources of mobile libraries with Congressional representatives from individual states.

“MOBILE OUTREACH: ACCESS AT ITS BEST,” a workshop held Sunday, June 24, 10:30 am to 1:30 pm provided a forum for learning about bookmobiles and sharing experiences. Workshop materials should be posted online soon.
