Japanese Books for U.S. Public Libraries
ALA, thanks to a generous grant from Toyota Motor Corporation, is able to offer as a benefit to 200 public libraries that are ALA organizational members, a set of 50 translated works of Japanese modern fiction and non-fiction.
The translated work of award winning authors (through Vertical Publishing) provide a great sampling of popular works from Japan in many genre- fiction, fantasy, mystery, horror, historical, Manga, etc.
These books, already found separately in libraries across the United States, will add diversity to libraries looking to enhance their collections, introducing many readers to new authors.
Thank you for your interest in receiving the set of 50 translated works. With a limited number of sets available, we have received 200 requests. This selection was made on a first come, first served basis.
Here is the list of books included in the set, with a short author biography and summary. All files will open a new window in PDF.
