The American Association of School Librarians (AASL), a division of the American Library Association (ALA), adopted a new Strategic Plan at its Board of Directors meeting on June 26, 2005, during the ALA Annual Conference in Chicago. You can read the new Strategic Plan below:

Report from ALA Focus Groups at the AASL 11th National Conference (PDF File*)
Market research conducted October 24-25, 2003, at the AASL National Conference in Kansas City, Mo. ALA contracted with a outside market research firm to conduct three focus groups: new ALA or AASL members; ALA or AASL members who were not active or had limited involvement with the organization beyond membership; and identified leaders in their profession and who were highly active and involved with ALA.
